Creating a Unique Corporate Identity

Whether you are manufacturing products or selling a service, one of the first steps will be to select a unique name to identify and distinguish your new business or product from those of your competitors. In order to optimize your chances for instant public recognition and awareness, the next step will be to create a unique logo or trade mark. Designing a unique logo or branding has however become a highly specialized art form in its own right. Therefore, to be competitive and respected, it is imperative to project a professional image from the outset.

At WSO Graphics, our policy is never to make use of what is generally referred to as ‘canned fruit’, which are existing images downloaded from the internet and then slightly modified to adapt it to your name or brand. By making use of standard fonts or ‘canned fruit’ images, your chances of claiming copyright of your design becomes a problematic issue, as those can never be considered unique or original. Take this into account if you intend to have a go at it yourself.

With over 50 years experience in this particular field, all our designs are custom developed by hand, from scratch to guarantee they are 100% unique and original. This also simplifies the process of getting the design registered (which you should), thereby protecting you from possible fraudulent use by competitors. The origination process of a logo is substantially more complex than is generally perceived. Just like the company name, the graphic concept is researched (to avoid duplication or resemblance) and then developed rather than simply designed, and this takes time.

The primary objective is that the client will be happy and proud of their professional corporate identity. WSO Graphics can also provide photography, as well as artwork for stationery, signage, vehicle branding, advertising, labeling, banners, expos, etc.

The set fee for a corporate Logo or Trademark is R10,000 ZAR ($530 USD or £421 GBP). For multiple simultaneous designs (eg. more than 5 trademarks), we can negotiate a substantial discount. All other artwork will be quoted for in advance at the standard studio rate of R700 ZAR/hr.
